LIBERTY COUNTY (KTRK) -- Authorities in Liberty County are warning parents and students to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity after a teen was nearly kidnapped at gunpoint Monday afternoon.

Investigators say the 13-year-old boy had just gotten of a Cleveland ISD school bus near his home in the 3700 block of CR 3479. The boy told deputies that around 3:30pm he was approached by two male suspects driving towards him in a gold Lincoln vehicle.

As the car got near the boy, the two men jumped out the car wearing "smiley" faced masks.

"Get in the car," one of the men told the boy, according to authorities.

After he told them "no", the boy says one of the men pulled out a gun and demanded he get into the car.

At this point, the boy told investigators he started to run towards his home in Plum Grove.

The two suspects are believed to be Hispanic males. No other details have been released.
