Teacher accused of having sex with student

RALEIGH, NC -- A high school teacher was removed from the classroom after allegations he had sex with a student surfaced.

Students tipped ABC Tuesday that investigators had removed 27-year-old Devon Ross Lategan from the classroom at Athens Drive, but he was not charged until late Wednesday.

According to a booking report, the alleged incident happened in June.

Lategan used to teach at West Henderson High School. According to his bio, he graduated from Chapel Hill High School and UNC Chapel Hill.
