Missing UH student's vehicle found by deputies, Steve Campion reports.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Eyewitness News has uncovered a big development in the case of missing University of Houston student An Vinh Nguyen. The Harris County Sheriff's Office recently recovered his 2016 Jeep Renegade and searched the vehicle for evidence.[br /][br /]The Jeep remains in law enforcement custody. Detectives would not reveal where they discovered the Jeep or what condition it was in at the time. They said the vehicle has been in their possession for about a week and Nguyen's family gave consent to search it.[br /][Ads /][br /]ABC13 spoke with Nguyen's brother by phone. He said they are still waiting for more information from investigators. They are heartbroken about Nguyen's disappearance and want him found soon.[br /][br /]On Wednesday, Eyewitness News spotted the vehicle in the sheriff's impound lot on the north side of Houston.[br /][br /]It has been two weeks since Nguyen's strange disappearance. He hasn't shown up for school, work, or returned to his family home in the Willowbrook area. The last person we know who saw Nguyen is his co-worker Bobby Johnson.[br /][br /]RELATED: Family desperate for answers in case of missing student[[br /]post ID="1837571" /][br /][br /]Johnson described the last two weeks as emotionally draining as Nguyen's loved ones wait for answers.[br /][br /]"I just know that he is missing and I want him found. However they find him, I want him brought back to his family so they can have closure. I want closure. You know I'm the last person he saw that night before all this came up. I really miss him. I really want him to come back however that is," said Johnson. "I wake up and I'm thinking where is An? Why don't we know anything? What happened? Where is he?"[br /][br /]Johnson said he continues to pray for answers.[br /][Ads /][br /]"I wasn't aware about the car until recently. That makes me even more scared because I'm not sure what happened. Where is he at?" said Johnson. "An is very silly. An is very fun but very smart and very intelligent. He'll help you with anything you need to do. Like I said this trip he was going to go on for this job interview, it was everything to him. He had planned it all out. It was very important to him."[br /][br /]Nguyen recently spent more than $500 on a plane ticket and trip to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was scheduled to interview with Spirit Airlines for a flight attendant position.[br /][br /]He never made the trip. His newly purchased and pressed suit remains in his closet.[br /][br /]Report a typo to the ABC13 staff[br /]
