Suspected drunk driver charged in woman's death in north Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police have charged a suspected drunk driver in the death of a 47-year-old woman killed in a high-speed crash in north Houston Wednesday.

Raul Saenz III, 31, is charged with two counts of intoxicated assault.

The crash happened at 600 East Crosstimbers around 6:20am on Christmas Eve.

In say Saenz's Chevy Aveo struck a woman's Ford van at high-speed going west on Crosstimbers. The woman and two others were ejected from the van. The woman, who was 47 years old, died on Christmas Day at the hospital.

The two others in the van survived the crash with minor injuries.

Police say after they determined Saenz was intoxicated, they arrested and charged him.
