TOMBALL, TX (KTRK) -- A security guard was shot at by two men allegedly breaking into cars in northwest Harris County, and now these men are behind bars.

It began with a drive-by shooting just after midnight in the 3400 block of FM 1960 West and ended with a police chase in Tomball.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office received a call for a drive-by shooting. Deputies say a security guard interrupted two men burglarizing vehicles. When he confronted the two men, they pulled a gun and fired at least two shots at the security guard.

As the men drove away, deputies spotted their silver SUV as it traveled westbound on FM 1960 at Gladebrook. When deputies attempted to pull the car over, the men took off and led police in a chase down State Highway 249 towards Tomball.

Tomball Police were able to spike three tires, yet the SUV kept going before eventually coming to a stop on FM 2920.

One suspect was taken into custody immediately. Another fled on foot through the Kroger parking lot where he was captured.

Both suspects are now in custody.

As for the security guard, he is okay. The bullets that were fired missed him, hitting his car instead.
