Store clerk fatally shoots robbery suspect in N. Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A store clerk turned the tables on a suspected robber this afternoon in the Greenspoint area. That suspect is now dead.

It happened at around 3:15pm at the Sand Liquor store at 188 North Sam Houston Parkway East. Police tell us the suspect, who they're only describing at this point as being young, walked into the store, jumped the counter and demanded money.

The clerk resisted and there was a struggle. The clerk reportedly got the suspect's gun and fatally shot the suspect.

The incident was captured on store surveillance video. Police are reviewing that video.
