Spring ISD: Student arrested after classmate fell from moving car's hood

Student arrested in possible car surfing accident
One Westfield HS student is injured and another arrested folloiwng the accident Tuesday

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Spring ISD high school student was taken to a hospital after he fell off the hood of a moving car and hit his head. Another student was later arrested.

It happened around 1:45pm on a street located between Westfield High School and the Westfield Athletic Complex.

According to district officials, the student was on top of the hood of a moving car and fell. The student hit his head on the street and was transported to Houston Memorial North accompanied by school administration. We don't yet know the student's condition.

The driver of the car involved took off. Spring ISD police later arrested that driver and charges of failure to stop and render aid were accepted by the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

At this point, officials believe this could be a car-surfing incident.

The Spring ISD Police Department is investigation.
