Jose Martinez speaks to Christine Dobbyn after suspect who kidnapped him was arrested.

DALLAS, TX (KTRK) -- On Super Bowl Sunday, 22-year-old Jose Martinez was feeling pretty good. He was "pumped up" as he watched a touchdown on television from his home.

He's recovering from nine broken places in his nose and now news of an arrest in the crime he was a victim in last month. William Gardner is one of the suspects charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Currently, Gardner is in the Dallas County Jail. Authorities will work to bring him back to Houston.

"I hope he goes to prison for a long time. He tried to kidnap me and all kinds of stuff," Martinez said.

He was working at Gillman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership on West Sam Houston Parkway when a man punched him during the test drive of a Dodge Challenger and stuffed him in the trunk.

"I hesitated getting out of the trunk and I got out and fought them off," he said.

He was able to pull the emergency latch and fight off two men. When one dropped a gun he grabbed it and shot one of them.

"Obviously they are very dumb," he said. "Everything they did was dumb."

Martinez says he probably wont do much talking if he sees Gardner in person.

"If I see him in person I'll get mad pretty quickly so it probably wouldn't be good to see in person or talk to him," Martinez added.

Police believe there are two more suspects, the other man in the test drive car and another who picked them up in a getaway vehicle. Martinez is waiting for them to be caught.

"They'll get them. You know what I mean," Martinez said.

The victim has not returned to work yet. He has to have surgery from his injuries and says he will return but it might not be in the same position.
