Skateboarder struck by car near school
The teen was seriously injured, but the driver may not face charges

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A skateboarder was hit by a car on the road just outside a Spring Branch ISD middle school.

A teenager was struck by a car along a road that's adjacent to Landrum Middle School at about 1:15pm Thursday. The driver did stop and was questioned by police.

After the accident, the teen's skateboard and earbuds remained on the ground.

It appears the teen was struck by the front of the gold Mazda. There is also windshield damage with the victim's hair still stuck in that windshield.

The teenage girl was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. She's listed in serious condition.

Houston police contacted the District Attorney's Office, and no charges will be filed against the female driver.

Classes are not in session at the school.
