Sex assault suspect apprehended by Cleveland PD

CLEVELAND, TX -- A 19-year-old man, Rodrigo Vargas of Cleveland, is facing a charge of Sexual Assault of a Child after he allegedly was caught having sex with an underage girl on Thursday, Dec. 10.

According to a statement from Cleveland Police Department, Officer George Suarez was patrolling the old city park when he observed suspicious activity in a parked white Honda Accord.

"As Officer Suarez approached the vehicle, he observed a male lying on top of a female. Both had their pants down. Officer Suarez instructed both subjects to dress themselves and exit the vehicle. Officer Suarez began questioning the male and female separately about their conduct," the statement reads.
