SANTA CLARITA, CA -- Deputies in Santa Clarita, California, were looking for two people shown in a selfie after their photo showed up on one burglary victim's cloud account. But they say this is all a misunderstanding.
On Wednesday afternoon, Santa Clarita deputies investigating a residential burglary released the selfie photo, calling the two people in the photo "persons of interest."
The man in the photo had apparently received the phone from his aunt, who purchased two phones at the San Fernando swap meet for $80.
The family contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to clear the mix-up and have been working with detectives.
Anyone with information about the ongoing burglary investigation is asked to call Los Angeles Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
