Security guard shoots, kills man
Police say a security guard opened fire on a homeless man who came at him in an aggressive manner

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened in the 4400 block of the North Freeway near Crosstimbers.

Police investigators tell Eyewitness News a security guard shot a man who would not leave the property.

A spokesman for HPD says the shooting victim is a homeless man who was sleeping behind the Conn's store building. When the security guard asked the man to leave he became aggressive, so the guard called Houston Police for help.

When the officer arrived the homeless man began confronting the officer, physically trying to assault him. The spokesperson for HPD says the officer re-positioned himself behind his vehicle and called for backup.

That's when officers say the homeless man came toward the security guard in an aggressive manner, so the guard shot him.

The guard was driving a white truck with the logo, "Allied Barton Security Services" written on the side.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
