HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston-area security guard has been sentenced to 124 days after he was convicted of impersonating a police officer in the apartment complex where he lives.

Mohammad Al Shukaili was charged with felony impersonating a public servant but pleaded guilty Thursday to a misdemeanor impersonation charge. He was sentenced to 124 days in jail, for which he has received credit.

Investigators say Al Shukaili allegedly detained a woman at his southwest Houston apartment complex in August. Houston police were called, and Al Shukaili allegedly told HPD officers that he was also an HPD officer. However, detectives later determined that Al Shukaili does work as security guard, but is not a police officer.
