HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A search is underway for a man authorities say shot another man in the leg in the Mission Bend area.

The shooting happened yesterday in the 15500 block of Beechnut around 5pm.

Fort Bend County deputies say the suspect showed a gun and tried to force the man into his house. However, the two men got into a struggle and the victim was shot in the leg. The man with the gun ran away and was seen getting into in a black passenger car parked nearby.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighing about 180 to 200 pounds. The suspect had a fade haircut and was wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

Fort Bend County authorities don't have a motive for the shooting yet, but say the investigation is ongoing.
