School fights posted on social media spark concern
More and more videos are being posted to social media, exposing fights inside local schools. So what do students do when the drama starts?

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- More and more videos are being posted to social media, exposing fights inside local schools. So what do students do when the drama starts?

"They run straight for it and start recording," says one student.

The latest video shows a lunchroom brawl at Morton Ranch High School in Katy. A group of students are punching, kicking and slamming in an all out brawl.

Saralisa Toboada is a student at Morton Ranch.

"It's a little embarrassing to me," she said.

Tobaoda's mom got an alert sent to all parents explaining the incident.

"I sent a text to my daughter asking are you OK," says Lourdes Toboada.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town at Cy-Creek High School on the same day, another brawl. More shocking cell phone video captured by a student, shows a big fight in the hallways. Brent posted it to Twitter.

Cy-Creek student Roshnia Buhdia also spoke to Eyewitness News with her dad's permission.

"It was very chaotic," she said.

We showed parents the videos. While some parents say they actually want to see what's going on inside their child's school, others say the videos are just embarrassing.

"Safety is the main issue basically," said dad Hirji Bhudia.

"I think it's terrible. I don't think that stuff should be publicized," added mom Claire Gergen.

But they all agree, these days school fights are way more than just little cat fights.

"It takes it to a whole new level. It just disturbing as a parent," added Gergen.
