School bus hit with children inside

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A car rear-ended a school bus this morning on Highway 6 near Mustang Road.

A Santa Fe ISD spokesperson said there were students on the bus when it was hit around 7am, but it's unknown how many.

Officials say the vehicle took the brunt of the impact. The Sante Fe ISD spokesperson said the students on the bus were checked out by emergency personnel at the scene and were then released to their campus or to their parents if they wanted to pick their kids up.

No children were hospitalized. It's unknown at this time if anyone else was hurt.
