School bus driver expected to be OK after accident near Webster

WEBSTER, TX (KTRK) -- A school bus accident involving some kind of spill closed all lanes of I-45 NB at Bay Area Boulevard near Webster for hours today. That stretch of highway is now open. The bus driver is expected to be OK, but the cause of that accident is unknown at this time.

The Webster Police Department says that no students were aboard at the time of the accident and no injuries were reported.

The vehicle that crashed around 8:15am this morning is a Clear Creek Independent School District bus. The bus sustained heavy front damage in the crash. A spokesperson for Clear Creek ISD says the bus driver hit a barrier on his way to pick up intermediate students.
