HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Hundreds of protesters opposing Donald Trump marched from City Hall to the Super Bowl Live events downtown Saturday, hoping to siphon attention from the festivities and aim it toward criticism of the administration.

About 300 people participated, many carrying #ResistTrump signs.

There were signs arguing climate change is real and many of the demonstrators criticized Trump's executive order banning immigration from certain predominantly Muslim countries.

A few counter-protesters also showed up. Some were holding signs that said "Blacks for Trump".

The protests did cause Metro rail service to warn about delays downtown, but the situation cleared up as the crowds dissipated around 5:30 pm.
