HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Drivers will have more time to renew their expired vehicle registration at area grocery stores.

The Harris Tax Assessor-Collector says drivers will have up to 30 days to renew their registration at local grocery stories like H-E-B, Kroger, Randall's, and Fiesta. There is a catch and that is that you must not have received a citation for driving with an expired registration.

If you have received a citation, you must renew at a Tax Assessor-Collector branch office. Remember, you can always renew your registration on-line and by mail before your registration expires.
