Pregnant woman shot, killed in NYC; baby survives

NEW YORK, NY -- Police say a 27-year-old pregnant woman has been shot and killed in New York City but doctors were able to save her baby.

The NYPD says Anastasia Massey was shot after dropping her children off at school Wednesday morning in the Queens section of the city.

Her husband had remained home with another child.

He told police he heard a bang outside their door at around 8:30 a.m. He opened it to find his wife shot in the chest and arm.

Massey, who was about six months pregnant, died at a hospital.

Police are investigating.
