SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TX (KTRK) -- U.S. Customs and Border Patrol arrested five people last week near South Padre Island after they seized more than 1,300 pounds of marijuana worth more than $1 million.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says officers seized 24 bundles of pot after the Coast Guard spotted a boat going northbound toward the coast. Authorities found a boat in the surf and arrested two people at the scene and three others nearby.
