HPD: Shooting after punch in nose
Police say a person was hospitalized after a shooting early this morning at a home in southwest Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say a potential drug deal gone bad early this morning has landed a person in the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

The shooting happened overnight outside a home on Waring near Richmond.

Police say three men came to a teenager's home at about 1am. An argument broke out between the teen and the others and one of the guys punched the teen in the nose.

Police say the teen then fired a gun at the others.

Neighbors say the guy who was injured was taken to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. He has several gunshot wounds and is expected to survive after surgery.

The teen who pulled the trigger was not arrested. Police say that teen told investigators the drugs and the guns that were found in the driveway did not belong to him.

We are still working on getting more information.

Security guards in the area told us they see lots of traffic coming and going from the home.
