Police investigating beating death in the Heights

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston homicide detectives are headed to the scene of a possible beating death. Officers have been called to the 200 block of Heights Blvd. near the Katy Freeway.

Around 4:45am this morning, a female jogger spotted the body in the median of the roadway. The jogger kept running until she found a police officer.

Police say the body is that of a Hispanic male in his 30's. The man's face was covered in blood, and police suspect foul play. Police are going door to door looking for witnesses.

Traffic is backed up in the area due to the police investigation. People who live and work in the area are advised to use an alternate route.
