Police chase ends in crash, briefly shuts down North Loop

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A police chase ended in a crash, briefly shutting down the 610 North Loop at Shepherd.

Around 89:35am this morning, officers began chasing a suspect for an unknown reason at the intersection of Yale & Crosstimbers in northwest Houston.

The chase went on for about 10 to 15 minutes before the suspect rear-ended a pickup in the westbound lanes of the North Loop.

The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the pickup truck is said to be okay.

Police have not said what charges the driver may face or why he was running from police.
