Police patrol car struck by alleged drunk driver

ROSENBERG, TX -- A Rosenberg man is facing a drunk driving charge after he allegedly smashed into a police patrol car.

At about 9pm Monday, Rosenberg Police Officer D. Stroud was traveling east in the 2300 block of Avenue I when a blue Ford truck ran a stop sign at 7th Street and Avenue I, striking the officer's patrol car.

Police say the other driver was identified as a Hispanic male from Rosenberg named Isido Cineros, 52. Cineros was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Cineros was transported to Fort Bend County Jail and is being held on a $500 bond.

The Rosenberg Officer suffered a minor injury and was taken to Oak Bend Hospital as a precaution.
