Deadly home invasion
One person was shot and killed after a home invasion in the Spring area. Police do not believe it was random.

SPRING, TX (KTRK) -- An early-morning home invasion in North Harris County has left one person dead and the suspect on the loose. This happened around 3:30am this morning near Louetta and Wimbleton Forest.

Harris County sheriff deputies on the scene say four men wearing red bandannas barged into the rental home. They were apparently all armed and one of them opened fire, hitting the victim in the chest. The person was shot did not survive.

Investigators say there were narcotics including cocaine in plain sight in the home. Once they removed the dead body, they tried to search the house, but the people who live there stopped being cooperative. Detectives are now waiting for a search warrant.

The four men who barged into the home have not been captured. Police believe the people who lived at the home were targeted.
