Officials find body matching description of missing swimmer

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- Officials believe they may have recovered the body of a swimmer who went missing in Galveston on Independence Day.

Galveston Beach Patrol found the body and it does match the description of 20-year-old Edgard Gonzalez, who went missing Monday at Stewart Beach.

They're working on making a positive ID. It's believed that swimmer stepped into a deep area and a strong current.
