Officers slam patrol car during chase on north side
Two Houston police officers are expected to be okay after crashing their patrol car

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police says two of its officers crashed their patrol car during a chase on East Hardy Road near Hopper Road around 3:11am.

Investigators said the officers were trying to stop a vehicle on the Eastex Fwy at Lee Road when the driver sped off.

The suspects could be seen throwing drugs out of the vehicle, according to HPD.

At one point, the officer's police cruiser lost control, went over a curb and struck a concrete overpass support.

Neither officer was injured, and are expected to be okay.

The suspects, meantime, got away.
