Officer-involved shooting in west Houston sends suspect to hospital

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A suspect is in critical condition following an officer-involved shooting in west Houston.

The shooting happened around 9:30pm Friday night in the 700 block of Bateswood.

Investigators say the suspect had been evicted and returned to his old home. The officer says the man charged him with a knife after refusing to follow the officer's instructions. The officer shot the man multiple times.

The suspect is now at Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
