A California Highway Patrol officer is accused of secretly videotaping someone in a home

ROSEVILLE, CA (KTRK) -- A California Highway patrol Officer is accused of secretly videotaping someone in the bathroom of a home in Roseville, California.

Jose Ignacio Roid, 30, faces misdemeanor charges of using a concealed device to record a person in a state of undress without their consent.

He turned himself in Monday and was released the same day.

The investigation began last Thursday, when the alleged victim notified police.

Roid is a seven-year police department veteran.

Investigators believe Roid made the recordings when he was off-duty.

Roseville Police Department spokesperson said, "This was not in the course of his employment. It was off-duty conduct, so we do not think it was related to his employment."
