Accused teacher back in court
A teacher is accused of failing to comply with a curfew following allegations of sex with a student

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with her 13-year-old student was back in court Wednesday morning.

Alexandria Vera was accused of violating her curfew condition of her bond.

Documents show she was due home at 8pm on July 26 and she was 46 minutes late returning home. A GPS device she's required to wear placed her at a shopping center. Documents show she has not violated the term which prohibits her from seeing the student.

The judge denied the prosecution's request to revoke Vera's bond. Her bond was set at $100,000. The court also had eight conditions that she's required to follow, which included the curfew.

The prosecution said it was especially upset because in the past she had violated another condition, which is to stay away from schools, especially the school she worked at. According to the prosecution, soon after she made bond, she ran around the track of a school to work out. The prosecution had a discussion with her about the violation, but didn't take any legal action at that time.

The judge denied the prosecution's request to revoke the bond, but he did say this is her last chance.

Neither the prosecution, nor the defense would comment on today's bond hearing.

Vera's complete bond conditions include not communicating directly or indirectly in any manner with the student, except through lawyers or the court, threatening or harassing the student, visiting the residence of the student within 200 feet or going near the student's school, nor any school. Additionally, she may not have contact with any child under 17 years old, except her daughter and brother. She is also not permitted use the internet, except for work use. Vera is required to use a GPS monitor and remain in her home from 8pm until 7am each day.
