HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- We're following a developing story in east Harris County where a woman and a man have been shot and killed in two different locations. Police are investigating to see if the shootings are related.

Police confirmed a woman, 61, has been shot to death in the driveway of a home.

Deputies said the victim's estranged husband, 53, shot her outside the home in the 12300 block of Greencanyon Drive.

Deputies are searching for the suspect, who was believed to be driving a black Toyota Tundra.

That Tundra was recovered Monday night at Wallisville near Shadrack in northeast Harris County.

That area is not too far from the two crime scenes.

A neighbor told investigators that the man and woman had a fight before the shooting.

"The victim did try to flee from the suspect. At one point, he did run to her, grab her and discharged his weapon, shooting her," Harris County Sheriff's Office Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland said.

Neighbors told deputies that a man and woman were having a physical altercation before the man shot his wife to death.

Deputies say a child was inside the home at the time of the shooting but was not aware of what happened.

Family members told deputies that the couple had been separated for a while and were in the process of getting a divorce.

Meanwhile, deputies are working to investigate the possible connection between this and a second shooting nearby.

Just after 8 a.m., police were called to a business located on Kindred Drive, also in east Harris County.

Investigators confirm a man was shot and killed at this location.

No suspects have been identified in this shooting.
