Motorcycle street race ends in deadly crash

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- A race between motorcycle turned deadly in Montgomery county.

Witnesses say around 8:00pm Monday night, two motorcycles were racing on Old Humble Pipeline Road near FM 1314. While racing, the riders sideswiped each other and went out of control.

Craig Perkins Sr., 55, ran off the road, hit a pipe running across a ditch, and was ejected. He died on scene.

Jeffery Michael Stansel, 34, ran off the road striking a mailbox and real estate sign before coming to rest in the woods. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Stensel was later booked into the Montgomery County Jail on racing causing death.
