Mother found murdered inside northwest Harris County apartment

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Harris County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the murder of a mother at an apartment complex in northwest Harris County.

The 24-year-old woman's body was found around 10:45pm Tuesday at the Inwood Meadows Apartments off 9017 Antoine Drive.

A roommate came home to find Linda Vu dead from multiple stab wounds. The mother's two young children, a boy and a girl under the age of 10, were home at the time of the attack. The children were unhurt.

The property manager tells Eyewitness News Vu and her children have been at the apartment complex only since the middle of this month.

Vu's employer, John York, who hired her to do manufacturing work, told us, "She was a good employee. We're going to miss her. (She was a) hard worker."

The door was still locked and there were no signs of forced entry at the apartment. Deputies have not publicly identified any suspect at this point.
