LUBBOCK, TX -- The husband of a 62-year-old woman missing since earlier this week has been arrested after her remains were discovered in a field near Lubbock.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports the Lubbock County medical examiner on Friday identified human remains found in a field northwest of Lubbock as Shelley Myers Jordan, who has been missing since Monday.

The medical examiner said the cause and manner of Jordan's death is still being investigated.

Lubbock police said her husband, 65-year-old Danny Jordan, was arrested in connection to her death. He remained in the Lubbock County Detention Center on Saturday on one count of murder. Jail records did not list an attorney.

According to court records, Shelley Jordan was granted guardianship of her husband, who was found mentally incapacitated in 2011.
