HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Fort Bend County man is still too shaken up to talk about the terrifying moments when a group of men held him up at gunpoint. But his neighbors are speaking up, all in hopes the guys will be caught before striking again.

It happened outside a home on Green Valley Drive in Greatwood.

When he got home around 9pm on New Year's Eve, he says three men jumped out of a black car and held him at gunpoint. They forced him to take off his jacket and pants and stole his wallet.

But perhaps the new year will bring better luck.

"It was on the side of the road in a puddle," resident Carlos Ingelmo said,

Ingelmo was out for his morning run when something caught his eye.

"I saw a wallet on the ground, was like, hmm, ok, I picked it up, took a few more steps and came across a driver's license and it led me here," Ingelmo said.

Ingelmo found the victim's wallet and license just a few streets away. He followed the address on the license and returned them.

"I know I would be very happy to get my driver's license back," he said.

The victim didn't want to talk on camera, but told Eyewitness News that he owns a jewelry store and he thinks the men who robbed him were waiting for him to come home.

Neighbors are pretty shaken up, too.

Coby Donaldson says sheriff's investigators looked through his home security video for clues, but the cameras didn't catch the suspects.

"For it to happen on your street, your cul-de-sac, in the back of a secluded area of a neighborhood, it's very unnerving," Donaldson said.

He plans on upgrading his home security system as a result of this robbery.

Ingelmo hopes the victim's luck will turn around this year.

"It's a fresh year, he got his wallet back, so maybe it will be a better year," he said.

And they're all hoping that whoever did this will be caught.

The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office is investigating. If you have any information on this robbery, give them a call.
