Inside Pope Francis' "visit" to Texas
Parishioners react to Pope Francis' "visit" to Texas church

McALLEN, TX (KTRK) -- Pope Francis spoke to parishioners in McAllen, Texas, via satellite Monday and it's still the talk of the town.

At this morning's mass, church goers shared with Eyewitness News their reactions to the Catholic Church leader's message during his recent session with the church.

Seeing the pope's face in their sanctuary has changed them.

Parishioner Irma Garza said, "I feel like he's right here with us still. It was just so amazing. Never in my dreams did I expect something like this to happen in my lifetime."

The church works tirelessly to help feed and clothe immigrants crossing the border with nothing to their name.

Families say they feel the pope confirmed that what their doing is the right thing.

One parishioner said, "I think that's why he came down to thank the people and to continue for us helping in any way that we can."
