Massive fire burns at vacant SE Houston daycare

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A massive fire burned today a vacant daycare in southeast Houston, according to fire officials.

According to the Houston Fire Department, fire broke out around 4:45pm at the building in the 8100 block of MLK near South Bank.

We're told there have been no injuries reported.

Firefighters had to fight it in defensive mode, as there are not a lot of fire hydrants in the area.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation but witnesses tell Eyewitness News they saw two kid run out of the building just before they saw the flames.

Traffic in the area of MLK and West Bellfort will be affected while crews are on the scene.
