The FBI said the black hat bandits' robbery spree had now grown to eight banks since Jan. 2.

FALLS CHURCH, VA (KTRK) -- Police in Falls Church, Virginia are working to track down three men who have held up a total of eight area banks in the last two months.

The latest heist happened Monday afternoon at a Wells Fargo bank, ABC affiliate WJLA-TV reports.

Police say two of the suspects, part of the Black Hat Bandits, are usually clad in black clothing when they hold up a bank. The third suspect waits in a getaway car.

"We now confirm that this is a three-person crew: two who take over the bank and one who waits in the car," the FBI told WJLA.

Officers remained on scene for hours collecting evidence and examining a footprint left in the snow outside the bank.

Investigators say the group first struck Jan. 2. No one was hurt in the latest incident.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
