HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police are investigating a shooting near Eisenhower Ninth Grade School in northwest Houston.

A victim shot in at an off-campus location ran to a parking lot behind Aldine ISD's ninth grade campus at 3550 W. Gulf Bank Road. When the victim was spotted, the school nurse was notified to come out and attend to the person. The victim, who has not been identified, was grazed by a bullet and taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

According to an HPD spokesperson, police believe the injured man matches the description of a suspect from a 911 call from the area around the same time in which a woman claimed a man was shooting at her dog.

No students were involved in the incident. The school was on a modified lockdown during the afternoon.
