Victim identified in deadly shooting in NW Harris Co.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Harris County Sheriff's Office says a murder suspect is in custody accused of killing a man attending a party for his nephew.

It happened in northwest Houston on Moonglow Drive near W Mount Houston and Veterans Memorial Drive.

The family has identified the victim as Juan Manuel De La Vega

The detectives say De La Vega was attending a party at a home when the man heard someone ran into a vehicle outside.

De La Vega ran outside and got into a confrontation with another person.

Detectives say that man, shot and killed De La Vega in the street.

The suspect was taken into custody.

Deputies are also interviewing other witnesses as well.
