Man dead in Montgomery County crash that nearly split car in half

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Montgomery County deputies say a man died after crashing his car into a telephone pole last night.

Deputies found 24-year-old Miguel Gutierrez Jr. dead in his car in southwest Montgomery County on SH 249 at Sentinel Oaks, around 10:15 last night.

Witnesses say he nearly split his Chevy Malibu in half, slamming it into that pole.

They say Gutierrez was driving erratically and had veered off about 60 feet from the road before the crash.
