BAYTOWN, TX (KTRK) -- Rose Marie Hunt was just weeks away from the birth of her baby, when Baytown Police say she was murdered, Friday.

The woman's body was found along Tri-Cities Beach Road Friday afternoon.

Baytown Police were called to Tri City Beach Road when the 21 year Baytown woman, Rose Marie Hunt was found there on the side of the road, underneath a white sheet. Prosecutors say she was eight and a half months pregnant and had been on a date with Galindo that day.

Police arrested 20-year-old David Galindo over the weekend. Prosecutors revealed in court that they claim to have found bloody clothes and a handgun matching the caliber used to shoot Hunt once in the head, in Galindo's residence.

Prosecutors also stated in court that Galindo gave this explanation for what happened.

"They were approached by a white van and an unknown male subject approached the vehicle, held him at gunpoint and as the complainant tried to exit, this unknown individual shot the complainant."

Police arrested Galindo anyway, and he's in jail on $300,000 bond, facing a felony murder charge which prosecutors could possibly upgrade.
