Man accused of driving drunk in deadly Seawall Blvd accident

GALVESTON, TX (KTRK) -- A Galveston man is in jail, accused of killing a Humble man in a drunk driving accident.

At about 2pm Saturday, Ashley and Alice Boyd were driving a minivan on Seawall Boulevard, heading to a family gathering. Police say Adrian Paul Mills was driving an SUV, with his dog in the vehicle, when he made an abrupt u-turn, striking the driver's side of the Boyd's van.

Ashley Boyd, 72, died at the scene and Alice Boyd was taken by ambulance to UTMB, where she continues to be treated for her injuries. Mills was also injured and taken to UTMB for treatment. The dog was not injured in the collision.

Mills, 38, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault. He remains in the Galveston County Jail on $150,000 bond.
