HOUSTON (KTRK) -- You may have noticed a loud rumbling sound and a large orange fire overnight coming from the Lyondell Basell plant overnight.
The company says the plant on Lawndale Street near Highway 225 and Almeda Genoa had to flare materials after a power outage.
Officials say there was no danger to workers or the public as they burned off the materials in order to stabilize their units.
The flare produced a huge bright orange fire and black smoke.
Lyondell Basell says it hopes to return to normal operations as soon as possible.
