Who will replace Constable Victor Trevino?
The official announcement as to who will lead the deputies in Precinct 6 has yet to happen but we are hearing it is Henry Martinez

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An announcement regarding the new Harris County Precinct 6 Constable hasn't officially happened yet, but the community is already divided.

Lulac District 8 sent Eyewitness News a statement saying in part that they "commend Commissioner Jack Morman's nomination of Lt. Heliodoro "Henry" Martinez as the next Precinct 6 Constable."

Lt. Martinez is currently with the Houston Community College police department and is a long time resident of Precinct 6.

Yet another Latino rights group gathered Sunday afternoon for what they say is a lack of transparency regarding the selection. Johnny Mata, a longtime activist, says Commissioner Morman has refused to meet with the community regarding their needs and who they would like to take over the precinct.

Former Constable Victor Trevino resigned earlier this month, a result of a 13 Undercover investigation. He then pleaded guilty to mismanaging funds collected by a charity he ran. The official announcement is expected to happen as early as Monday.
