Mom charged after kids left in car
A mother is now charged with child endangerment after her children were found in a hot car

HARLINGEN, TX (KTRK) -- Police say a south Texas mother left her two children in a hot car Friday, while she went to a nail salon in Harlingen.

Authorities say Maria Sarrion left her 5-month-old baby and a 3-year-old alone in a vehicle with the engine off in a parking lot.

Police say witnesses noticed the children and were able to get them out of the vehicle.

They described them as sweating and crying, but it's not clear how long they were in that car.

A car employee said, "We were very, very busy. She waited here for 40 to 45 minutes around there and after she got her wax and she left, that's when we realized that the ambulance and police were outside. We didn't know she had her kids with her."

The children were rushed to a hospital.

No word on their condition.

Their mother was arrested and charged with child endangerment.
