Katy shopping center evacuated after bomb threat
The fire marshal told ABC13 that nothing has been found that would indicate a legitimate threat so far.

KATY, Texas (KTRK) -- A Katy-area shopping center was briefly evacuated on Thursday as authorities investigated a bomb threat.

According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office, a man entered the Claire's store at La Centerra in Cinco Ranch several times. On his third visit, he allegedly told a store employee to leave because he was planning to blow up the store.

That employee then alerted authorities to the threat.

Deputies canvassed the area but were unable to identify any potential explosive devices. They are still working to determine if the man who made the threat was caught on surveillance camera.

The shopping center has since reopened.

No other details have been released.
