ELKHART, IN (KTRK) -- Officers say two children at the center of an Amber Alert are dead after their mother drove to a police station with their bodies.

Amber Pasztor is now charged in the murder of her two children, 7-year-old Liliana Hernandez and 6-year-old Rene Pasztor, WSBT-TV reports.

An Amber Alert was issued after both children were reported as missing from Fort Wayne on Monday.

Police say Amber Pasztor, who did not have custody of her children, likely kidnapped the pair.

The children's mother allegedly drove to the Elkhart Police Department yesterday evening and told an officer she had two bodies in the car.

That is when officers allegedly found the two children in the back seat of a car outside the department's parking garage.

An autopsy set for today will confirm the identities of the two children found inside the vehicle.

The condition of their bodies or how they died was not disclosed by police.

Meantime, police said they hoped to speak with a man named Frank Macomber, who may have information as to what happened.
