Joshua Denagelo Miles led police in a chase that ended with a deadly crash

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An innocent victim has died after a police chase crash yesterday in southeast Houston. Charges may now be upgraded against suspect.

Joshua Denagelo Miles, 27, is charged with evading arrest/detention after the police chase on Thursday.

The 61-year-old was sent to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he died Thursday night. A second victim, a female passenger, 47, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.

Houston police say Myles fled from officer in a silver GMC Envoy, which was reported stolen. During the pursuit, police say Myles ran the red light at the intersection of Scott Street and Yellowstone. At that time, Myers struck a white Nissan Versa traveling westbound on Yellowstone, and then a black Kia Soul stopped at a red light southbound on Scott. Myles jumped out of the the Envoy and fled on foot. He was taken into custody a short distance from the accident scene. The female driver of the KIA was not injured.
